Christ’s C.R.E.W. Children’s Ministry
(Children Radically Experiencing Worship)
Purpose
The purpose of Christ’s C.R.E.W. (Children Radically Experiencing Worship), the Children’s Ministry of The Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church, is to develop worship opportunities and events for children 3 years old through fifth grade that allow them to experience opportunities for spiritual growth in creative, fun, and safe environments that minister to their holistic development.
Worship Opportunities & Themes
Christ’s C.R.E.W. Children’s Chapel takes place on 2nd and 4th Sundays in the Chapel located in the Hope Cathedral. Registration and Check-In begins at 9:45am
Christ’s C.R.E.W. Bible Study meets every Wednesday in room T-301 in the Edgewood Center of the H.F. Shepherd Multiplex. Registration and Check-In begins at 6:45pm
Christ’s C.R.E.W. Chapel and Bible Study use the Kingdom Kids Curriculum published by Seeds of Faith. During our 2012-2013 chapel experience, we are presenting the “Miracles of Jesus” to our children through storytellers and small group (designated by grade) activities including crafts and games. In Bible Study, we are giving our children a brief summary of each of the 66 books in the Bible while teaching them about some of the major characters in the biblical story. Bible Study groups are separated into lower elementary (2nd grade and under) and upper elementary (3rd through 5th grade) groups.
Upcoming Events
Vacation Bible School is held during the month of June and more information will be provided during the Spring months.
Christ’s C.R.E.W. assist with organizing the Back-to-School Blast that provides a time of fun, food, and fellowship while also making available school supplies for families in need. This event happens in early August and further details will be provided in July.
Hallelujah Night is an event scheduled during the week of Halloween to give the children of GTRBC and the community a safe and wholesome alternative. Hallelujah Night includes free food, games, inflatables, and candy.
